Children's problems
Children are ‘naturals’ for hypnosis. They use their imagination quite spontaneously when playing on their own. We may have heard the conversations they have with their imaginary friends when they are at play. Hypnosis uses this natural skill to allow them to quickly enter into that beautiful world of imagination and creativity to achieve effective change.
(For children aged 14 and under a parent or guardian must always be present.)
The problem
Typical problems that can be helped are: - bed wetting, nightmares, hair pulling, nail biting and fear of animals and insects.
Case history
A 9 year old boy came to see me who was terrified of dogs. He could not visit friends or go out for a walk without clinging to his parents’ hands. As a result of this phobia his social development was severely curtailed and he found it difficult to maintain friendships. After hypnotherapy this boy was soon able to walk past dogs without hanging on to his parents’ hands, and could happily visit homes of friends who owned dogs.
Techniques used to resolve this condition
Trance induction was achieved by using ‘Harry Potter’s’ flying car as a ‘cloud car’ going to a special place to play with lots of friends who owned dogs. The friends and dogs then returned home with him in the ‘cloud’ car.
Outcomes and Benefits of Hypnotherapy in this condition
